Giulia Isceri

Figure Skating

                        Choreography

Giulia Isceri is a professional figure skater, choreographer and yoga teacher. She lives her passion through movement and creative expression. Improvisation is her favorite way to let choreographies unfold on the ice. Listening to the music and letting the sound be the guide to the movement of artistic interpretation.

In 2017 Giulia started her performance career with Holiday on Ice, followed by Willy Bietak productions; cruise ship Symphony of the Seas in 2018/2019.

In 2020 she participated at Art on Ice Zurich.

After she attended several residencies with the contemporary skating company Le Patin Libre in 2021, her interest to approaching the ice in a new way grew.

Shortly after participating at the choreography competition the Young Artists Showcase with American Ice Theather, she got the honor to co-create and be part of Stefanie Olbort’s master thesis In.two in Contemporary Dance Choreography at ZhdK.

In January 2022 together with her friend Laura Hafen (who’s a professional Dancer) they created their first artistic Contemporary Skating Filmproject NEWGROUND
(scroll down for more information).

Meanwhile during the pandemic she completed the Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Program of Ameriga Giannone.

Choosing the path of becoming a Yoga teacher brought her to connect the experience of working on movement off the ice (in various dance styles) with her background from figure skating.
She’s passionate to share the wonderful benefits (vinyasa;
connection movement through breath) of flowing on the mat with athletes and skaters.

The curiosity in several art and movement forms, such as contemporary skating, various dance styles, painting and the practice of Yoga inspire Giulia to invest, learn and share movement on as well as off the ice.

IN.TWO

MASTER PROJECT MA DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY
BY STEFANIE OLBORT

In.two is inspired by a prenetal experience and the loss of a twin sibling before birth. Planned as a Contemporary Skating Piece on stage, this documentary instead shows the rehearsal process, the choreographer’s thoughts and movement excerpts embedded in two short art films. A moved momento to treasure the connected feeling once shared in the womb.
